How would you describe the culture at PeopleEX?

Although it’s only a few years old, PeopleEX has developed a vibrant and supportive culture that places people at the heart of everything we do. As an entirely virtual team, trust and accountability are vital, and despite not being physically together, we’ve created an energetic, collaborative, and inclusive environment where every voice is encouraged, heard, and respected. Our commitment to sustainability and regeneration and our ‘People for Better’ mantra extends beyond our service offerings - it’s about ensuring a future where both our planet and people can flourish. Together, we’re proud of the positive, forward-thinking environment we’ve created and are dedicated to making a meaningful impact as a team.

What are your predictions for the future of HR?

I see several key trends emerging:

Hybrid Workforce Management: As the mix of permanent, contract, and casual workers continues to increase, HR professionals will need to implement systems that can manage a more fluid and dynamic workforce, while also maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Evolving Employment Law: As our labour laws continue to evolve—especially in the areas of health and safety, flexible work, and pay equity—HR professionals will need to stay on top of legal changes to ensure compliance, maintain positive employee relations, and avoid legal risks.

The use of AI in HR (AI, Automation and Analytics): Although it has been around for decades, we are seeing a sharp uptake in the use of AI, particularly over the last 2 years. HR functions will need to start adopting AI and automation to streamline recruitment, performance management and training processes. Candidates have had an arsenal of AI tools available to them for a long time, and HR professionals need to adopt the same level of engagement to keep up. Additionally, predictive analytics will be used more frequently for data-driven decisions, allowing HR professionals to focus on more strategic tasks.

What are your outside interests?

Home really is where the heart is for me. I enjoy spending time with my partner, Hayden, and our two children, Josh (7) and Amber (5), who keep life busy and entertaining! I also enjoy spending time in the garden, which I find both relaxing and rewarding. I love spending time with family and friends, whether it’s casual coffee catch-ups or quality time at my parents' farm in Horowhenua making lasting memories. Balancing these interests helps me feel recharged and ensures my cup stays full.
